Subsidiary View List Drop down

I am creating a subview drop down list of a products view so i can easily select one of the items in the list. however, when i go into the subview to select the item, nothing appears for me to select. i have removed all applies to and switched the time scale to non applicable. i have this same line item in another module and it works just fine and they are set up the same. any sugestions?
