Numbered list model to model import problem

In the current data import process when importing line items from another model there are only two options "match on names or codes" or "manual". The match on names or codes does not match on names correctly and seems to only use the codes (hash numbers) for numbered lists resulting in very sporadic matching occurring and a lot of items in the list that won’t match at all.
It would be ideal if there was another option that we could match on names only, this way if there was two models with names which were identical we could use these to validate the link on the import. Now that Anaplan has the model to model link ability this is an important feature and one which will assist the importation process for many users.
We do have a work around to get it working to match on the names by changing the view of the target module to get the line items in columns which enables a match process to work but this is only a work around and not ideal nor is it how the system should work/behave.
This has also been raised as a ticket (#52475) .
Below screenshot is from Anapedia showing that the matching process doesn't make sense in that it will use the names of the source but then use the names or codes of the target.

Grant makes a good point. As we move to a more centralised architectures using data hubs as a repository for model hierarchies, the ability to share hierarchical data throughout models, which also utilise numbered lists will become more and more prevalent. The current restriction on matching just names on the source, to name or code on the target means that, when using numbered lists, in an import, the list names must be absolutely identical. When I build a model using numbered lists, I have absolutely no control of the underlying list item name (Anaplan matches based on the # code, not the display name), meaning that I can't control the source item name. But I can (and do) control the codes of items when I construct models using numbered lists, so if model to model imports were enhanced so that matching could take place on either side, based on both name or code, we'd have models that we could control much more effectively.0
