Hi everybody,

 

Welcome to the Enhanced Calculation Engine (ECE) Alpha programme and many thanks for your time and feedback, especially at this early stage of the development process.

 

I was hoping that we could all get to know each other a little better so I'll go first;

My name is Jason Reich and I am one of the technical leads on the project. Before I joined Anaplan, I was with IBM Planning Analytics (formerly TM1) so I have some experience of sparse OLAP engines and their application. I am particularly interested in new use-cases that ECE might enable so that we can create representative test cases to optimise performance against. I live in York, United Kingdom. I think I had hobbies once but since my son was born, I can't really remember anymore.

    Hi I'm Tom Shackell, like Jason I live in York, and also used to work on IBM Planning Analytics (TM1). I'm also one the technical leads, and I'm responsible for the new low-level part of ECE: which is basically a new sparse version of the Hyper Block concept. Like Jason I'm also interested in what cases ECE might enable, but I'm especially interested in performance and optimisation.

    Hi group I'm Will Lederer Anaplaning since 2013, first as a partner then as customer. Started this type of dimensional modeling with Adaytum in 2000. Amazing to see this kind of progress.

    Hello All, 

    My name is Steve Lake and my role is a platform architect. I work partly on the Enhanced Calculation Engine (ECE) project, and partly on the Anaplan platform architecture long term strategy. I am based out of the London office but work with teams in all our engineering offices worldwide. I am really looking forward to seeing the enhanced engine being used in customer hands.

    My whole career has been spent in in high performance compute. Prior to Anaplan I was building pricing engines for a high frequency trading system in Investment Banks.

    Outside work, I have a passion for cycling & climbing.
