Hi there,

I just showed a client the new Excel Add-in and they were extremely underwhelmed by the performance of it.

Specifically they didn't love that:

 - Excel freezes for 30 seconds upon signing in

 - Refreshing takes 10-15 seconds for a small module on a high-speed network

We are seeing these issues on different laptops on different networks, which makes it seem like it's not an isolated issue.

The client users are comparing the Anaplan add-in's performance to the Oracle Essbase add-in's performance; Oracle Essbase has <1 second refresh times and no such lag upon login.

Please advise?

Kevin

Thank you, Magali, for the offline exchange. We'll have our client confirm the sign-in latency is resolved in 4.1.

And it sounds like user experience will continue to be a priority for the team, and that rapid retrieval, pivoting, and filtering of data should be done in the browser, which makes sense to me, since it will always have the latest and greatest metadata and data.

Looking forward to learning more about the roadmap, and seeing how the Excel Add-in roadmap combines with hypermodel and sparse engine. 🙂
