Anaplan... the best FaaS solution?

Happy New Year fellow Anaplanners!

 

As we start 2021 I want to get your thoughts on something that has been on my mind for some time... is Anaplan really a SaaS solution?

 

I have always felt that it is more than a SaaS solution due to the customer's ability to build bespoke models and apps. Hence, we often refer to it as a platform but it doesn't fully fit into the grouping of PaaS cloud solutions either.

 

Then I saw this article:

It highlights 'Function-as-a-Service (FaaS)' and seems the best fit for Anaplan (in my humble opinion).

 

Anaplan is often compared to other EPM SaaS solutions and I wonder whether that is comparing apples and oranges...

 

What are your thoughts?

    Thanks for your reply Greg.

     

    I presume your initial implementation was with Anaplan directly instead of a Partner. (Please correct of I am mistaken).

     

    I wonder whether this may further effect the type of cloud service offering that Anaplan provides.

     

    Maybe Anaplan is not only more than a SaaS solution but could be either / or a mix of SaaS, FaaS and PaaS depending on the customers interaction!
