Filter Line Items on Page Edge

I have a board page where I reuse the same Customized view multiple times on the same page.  The view has Line Items on the Page edge and there are 14 line items.  I created a Grid Card template, so I can easily reuse the Customized view, and I only have to change the line item in the context property.  If I disable the Sync on Selection and Sync with Page options, will it filter the view for only the selected line item, or does it bring the entire view into memory and only display the selected lined item?  If the later is performed, the performance will be worse because it will consume more memory, and it would require me to create multiple Saved views filtered for a single line item, which would be laborious.
