This item has been identified as an outstanding known issue. Workarounds are provided until the issue is officially fixed.
Issue:
When you have selected items for a users Selective Access, after opening the dialog box to edit this selection, none of the previously selected items will appear in the 'Selected items' box.
Workarounds:
Removing Selective Access
- Option 1 - Remove all/partial Selective Access:
Use the ‘delete’ key on the selective access cell(s) to remove access to all items.
You can also then add some items back if you are trying to do a partial remove - Option 2 - Remove partial Selective Access:You can copy and paste the contents of the cell into a text editor and this will give you the underlying identifiers of the items in the respective order they are shown in the cell. From here you can remove an item you wish to delete and copy and paste the other IDs back into the cell.
- Option 3 - Remove Selective Access for specific users through list
In List Grid View, navigate to corresponding cell for Write/Read and item you want to delete user access to, click the ellipses, press command key (mac) or ctrl alt (windows) to keep existing users selected and click on the user to remove.
Adding Selective Access
- Option 1 - Add Selective Access through users
Click on the ellipsis and open the dialog box. Click and add the new item, then click ‘Ok’. This will append the selected item to the end of the previous selection.
Note: Whilst the already selected items do not show up in the dialog box, they remain selected when you apply the changes. - Option 2 - Add Selective Access for specific users through list
In List Grid View, navigate to corresponding cell for Write/Read and item you want to provide user access to, click the ellipses, press command key (mac) or ctrl alt (windows) while selecting user to keep existing users selected.
Duplicating Selective Access
- Copy an existing selective access cell and paste over the subject cell(s) to duplicate access.
Note: must use shortcut keys
Copy - Ctrl + C (Windows OS) / Cmd + C (Mac OS)
Paste - Ctrl + V (Windows OS) / Cmd + V (Mac OS)
Viewing Selective Access for all users / Edit Selective Access using spreadsheets
- You can export the Users tab. To mimic the UI view, make sure the setting ‘Concatenate list members into a single cell’ under Selective Access is checked. Open this exported file in excel, the items are displayed as the text values rather than as IDs.
Note: You will not be able to copy and paste these text values from Excel into Anaplan, however, if the text is replaced with the underlying identifiers, they can be copied over. Underlying identifiers can be obtained by copying and pasting a full access cell to a text editor.
If the above workarounds are not suitable in your use case, please contact Support at support@anaplan.com.
