ALM: Predicted Model Size

ALM: The predicted live model size is calculated in the dev model based on the production data size in the live model. 

 

 

This would allow developers to understand the impact of changes to the model before this is pushed to live and may result on an alternative approach to the developers model design.

I've attempted to protoype this in XL by copying the general lists data to XL, but there are a number of areas where required information is not accessible in the current platform:

- Need to accommodate subsets (not in the list export)

- Need to accommodated subsidiary views

- Need to determine cell size to calculate MB

- Need to know number of versions and time periods

- Need to adjust for summary/no summary

This could be used to gain a quick understanding of where space is applied.  i.e. what is the impact on size of turning off summaries in a module or reducing the number of years of history.
