I am currently working with a customer that has a 4-4-5 calendar that always starts on Jan 1 and ends on Dec 31.  Their fiscal year always has the calendar number of days, but their months/quarters are split up based on 4-4-5 methodology.  This is essentially a hybrid time scale between 4-4-5 and Calendar.

In Anaplan, when we choose the 4-4-5 time scale, we have to specify which day the FY always end on.  However, their last day of the Fiscal Year varies depending on the calendar. They had similar issues in Salesforce.com and SFDC had to develop custom time scales as a result.

The request would be for a fully customizable time scale option, in which the customer could define the month/quarter/year start and end dates for each year in the model.
