Cumulate on list items in Module without time dimension

I've noticed that this request has been made before, however it did not gain any responses or votes, so I'll repost in the hope of getting a response and or iliciting some votes.

We have a need to perform Pareto analysis which involves performing a RANK function on a particular variable (eg Revenue or Margin) and then performing a segmentation of the data based on the position of the item based on the variable.

Again, the previous request articulates this issue very well:

In this case, the RANK function by revenue would rank Walmart 1 and Jive SW as 6.  The enhancement would take the % of Total and add it to the running total of the previous rank.  ie Google is in the 51.9th percentile, because it's the sum of the previous running total (28.3% and Google's proportion as well (23.6%).
