Card types
A card is an interactive component that page builders can add to a page.
Boards are made up entirely of cards, which can be rearranged and resized.
On worksheets, cards are displayed in the side panel on the right-hand side of the screen.
This page explains the different types of card you can create.

Text card
Use a text card to add text to a page.
Text is useful for giving end users more context, and to aid their understanding of a page.
You might use text to:
- add headings, to group elements on a page together
- give more information about what is being displayed
- provide instructions on how to complete tasks
Text can make pages easier to use and navigate, but it’s good practice to use text sparingly — to avoid overloading end users with information.

Grid card
Use a grid card to display a table containing data from a module.
Tables are useful for presenting the underlying data in modules to end users, for planning and analysis.
If the main component you want to present on a page is a table, use a worksheet.

Chart card
Use a chart card to display a chart based on the information in a module.
Charts add a strong visual impact to your pages, and make it easier for end users to spot trends and outliers.
You can create the following types of chart:
- Combination — you can use a combination chart to create line, dot, area, and column charts, by changing how each series displays
- Bar
- Pie

KPI card
Use a KPI card to display a single value from a cell.
The value displayed is the first value in the module — the value in the top left-hand corner of the grid.
KPI cards are useful for displaying small pieces of key information.
For example, you can use KPI cards to display important metrics, or key performance indicators — like a sales target, or your total profit.

Image card
Use an image card as a visual identifier of a line item.
For example, you can use image cards to identify office locations, products, or different employees in your company.

Action card
Use an action card to display a set of actions for users to complete. Each action is displayed as an action button on the card. When the user clicks an action button, a pop up window displays that enables them to trigger the action.
For example, the card may contain three buttons, one to import sales data, and one to export the data as an excel file. Then, a final action button, that is a process, generates the excel file into financial statements.
An action card is a good way to help users follow a sequence of steps to achieve a business goal.
