This item has been identified as an outstanding known issue.  A workaround is provided until the issue is officially fixed.

Issue

The error below is received when attempting an ALM sync or when attempting to 'Create Model from Revision':

An internal error occurred while preparing the
structural changes for synchronization.
Reason for error: To serve as an access driver,
a line item must be formatted as a Boolean.
  • The error is thrown if the following changes are made in the same sync, or before the revision tag from which a model is to be created is added.
  • Set a line item to Boolean format and add a formula - to be used as a DCA driver line item
  • Set the read/write access of another line item to be the DCA driver line item
Add a formula to the line item that is driven by DCA

Workaround

In the case where the error occurs when attempting an ALM sync; for the line item that is driven by DCA, please follow these steps:

  1. Remove the access driver
  2. Create a revision tag and sync
  3. Re-add the access driver
  4. Create a revision tag and sync

If this workaround is not suitable in your use case, please contact Support at support@anaplan.com.

In the case where the error is received while attempting to create a model from a revision, please contact Support at support@anaplan.com as depending on the exact circumstances and requirements when the error is hit, the workaround will be different.
