Hey there, 

 

I wanted to share some descriptions of a good model builder and a sample of job desriptions for a solutions architect or CoE (Center of Excellence) expertise from our teams here at anaplan. These are examples, and not exhaustive. Feel free to post your job description examples! 

  • Analytical problem solver who, is intellectually curious, learns quickly and is excited by using technology to improve business processes
  • Organized, focused, self-directed, and innovative, e.g. able to design a modeling solution without explicit direction
  • Expert level modeler with ability to write complex formulas in Excel or other business modeling technologies and troubleshoot complex planning models
  • Ideally 2-5 years of experience with multi-dimensional systems such as Cognos, Hyperion, Business Objects, TM1 etc.
  • Understands how to convert end-user business requirements into solution functionality
  • Familiarity with basic data integration scripting concepts and ETL technologies preferred
  • Able to abstract and unite model design concepts between business planning use cases:
  • Finance use cases: Subject matter expertise in financial management systems, including financial modeling expertise; understanding of accounting principles and how to apply to planning and/or consolidation solutions
  • Sales use cases: familiarity with sales performance management systems and sales operations process (quota setting, sales crediting, incentive calculation, territory design and management, etc.)
  • Supply chain user cases: familiarity with supply and demand forecasting methodologies, statistical methods, terminology and common supply chain metrics (lead time, days inventory on hand, inventory turns, etc.)    Analytical problem solver who, is intellectually curious, learns quickly and is excited by using technology to improve business processes
