End users can use a form to add an item to a list.

Forms will contain a field to input a name for the item. You also have options to enter list properties for the item or to choose the item's parent.

For example, to add items to an Employees list, a page builder creates a form where end users can input the following items: employee Display Name, ID Code and the region the employee is located in. The end user selects the specific region from the Parent dropdown list.

Use a form to add a list item

Forms include at least one input field that you complete and submit in order to add an item to a list.

Some forms include the option to select a parent item for the new list item. You can only select a parent that you have access to and that is appropriate to be a parent for the item. For example, if the list is a composite list, it might combine a Cities list and a Countries list — you can't select a city as a parent for another city. Items in the list that you cannot choose to be the parent item are crossed out.

To use a form to add a list item:
  1. Open the worksheet that contains the form you want to add the list item to.

  2. Click the plus icon in the toolbar to see all forms available for that worksheet.

  3. Select the form you want to use.
    The form will open.
If a form requires more data input, it will display input fields for you to complete. Some forms do not require input to add an item; in this case you can simply click Submit.

  4. Complete the Name field.

  5. Optionally, complete any property fields that have been included in the form by the page builder; these fields may include:

    • checkboxes,
    • dates,
    • lists,
    • numbers,
    • text fields (including general text, links, and email addresses), and
    • time periods.
  6. If the page builder has given you the option, select a parent for the list item from the Parent dropdown list.

  7. Click Submit.
The data will be added to the worksheet.
