Anaplanners often need the ability to lock and unlock budgeting line items. The problem is that this locking process needs to be done by the budget owners, who often are not the workspace administrator of the model. The introduction of dynamic cell access (DCA) has been instrumental in allowing end users the ability to control line item access. No longer is there a need for workspace administrators to be the main driver of user control, DCA now gives this flexibility to end users. I will be walking through one example of how we can utilize DCA to lock budgeting input line items within an Expense Planning Dashboard.

In summary, DCA helps empower the appropriate team members to control the access of budget line items, providing the ease of autonomous updates and customizable levels of control within the model. By reviewing the above video I hope this can expand your thoughts on DCA and utilize this functionality creatively within your models.
