This item has been identified as an outstanding known issue.  A workaround is provided until the issue is officially fixed.

Issue

A module-to-module import fails with the following error:

"Import into <XX> module failed: The dimensions in the target module do not match the import definition"

The specific conditions that cause the error are as follows:

  • Source module has an extra dimension (List)
  • Target module has a Subsidiary View
  • Both source and target Line Items are of the same format (Text, Time Period, List)

Note: If the format in the 3rd point above is either Boolean or Number, the module-to-module import will be successful because booleans and numbers are not truly blank when they have no value.  They are set to False/0.

Workaround

To workaround this issue:

  • There must be a cell value in the source Line Item.
  • Add source module list as an 'Applies To' to the target Line Item and re-map the import.

An alternative workaround to the issue:

    1) Create a new Text-formatted line item
    2) Input data in one cell (e.g. with a simple dash “-”)
    3) Remap the import definition to include this new Line Item
