The Anaplan Community team is aware of a recent spam messages via the Private Messaging feature in Community.

Earlier today, our third-party community platform was temporarily impacted by automated bots sending messages to other users. Based on the investigation conducted by our security team, we believe these messages were generic spam. However, to be safe, any user who clicked the link can have their machine scanned for infected files by their local IT/Security team. If for any reason they submitted sensitive information (such as passwords), we strongly recommend they change them. Additionally, users should delete this message from their Anaplan community inbox.

No Anaplan data or information has been exposed in this spam-based event.

We have since taken mitigation actions, including disabling private messaging, and will be implementing additional controls to prevent this from happening in the future. Our team is currently monitoring the situation and since approximately 7:00 a.m. PST, we have not seen any additional suspicious activity.

Community members impacted by the messages will have received a private message from a spam account, similar to the one below:

Furthermore, Community members with email notifications enabled may have received an email to their registered email address containing the spam message, too.

Please DO NOT click the link within those private messages. You may follow these steps to safely delete the spam message from your Community Private Messages:

  1. Open your Private Messages by clicking the envelope in the top-right corner of the Community.

  2. Select the spam message, and then click the delete button (garbage bin) in the top-right corner of the screen.

Again, the Anaplan Community team is aware of this issue and are working to remove the spam user accounts and messages, as well as prevent any future spam messages against the Community and its members. Please post any questions you have below and we'll answer them as soon as possible.
